TREASURER
The Municipality of Oliver Paipoonge is seeking applications for a full-time
permanent Treasurer. The Treasurer provides financial advice and reports to
Council and departments within the Corporation and manages all activities of the
finance department.
The Township is seeking a senior level manager with demonstrated progressive,
municipal management experience, and a thorough knowledge of municipal
financial operations and services including taxation, accounting, budgeting,
financial reporting, asset management, investments, payroll, financial policy and
internal controls.
Candidates must have seven years of financial/accounting experience with three
years of supervisory experience. Candidates will have a professional accounting
designation, either an AMCT, CMO or equivalent designation, or a degree or
diploma in a discipline like Accounting or Finance. Experience in a municipal
setting is highly preferred. Familiarity with municipal accounting systems,
particularly Munisoft, is an asset.
Candidates must be able to identify, analyze and solve problems. Candidates
need to deal with the public and staff in a courteous and tactful manner.
Candidates must possess good communication and computer skills.
