Wahsa Distance Education Centre is operated by the Northern
Nishnawbe Education Council under the direction of District Area Chiefs
and First Nation communities. Wahsa provides secondary education
services to northern communities across the Sioux Lookout District by
SMARTBoard/Bridget software and Independent Learning courses.
Wahsa develops, delivers, and co-ordinates courses, training and support
services in consultation with participating First Nations. Students receive
instruction, instructional packages, tutoring, and academic and personal
counseling through local and central support systems.

Wahsa Distance Education Centre in Sioux Lookout Ontario
1.0 Vice Principal
1.0 Math/Science Teacher
1.0 English Teacher
1.0 Cooperative Education Teacher
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
< Intermediate/Senior qualifications
< Principal Qualifications Part 1 & 2. Those with a plan to obtain these
qualifications are strongly encouraged to apply
< Member of Ontario College of Teachers
< Experience teaching First Nation students an asset
< Computer literacy
< The ability to speak a District First Nations language an asset.
< Willingness and ability to travel
